How learning Italian can grow your confidence

The most common thing I hear from my clients when we’re discussing giving something new a go is “but I’m not ready” or “I haven’t done it before”.
Have you ever felt like the whole “I can’t do it” or “I’m not ready yet“ thing is holding you back?

The idea that you’re just not able to do something—simply because you’ve never done it before—is surprisingly common. Also - if you haven’t done it before, you will always need to give it a go at some point. What if it’s just a matter of trying something?

Think about it: every time you start something for the first time, you’re allowed to be clueless.
You’re allowed to be a beginner!
Imagine any time you’ve start something new - you didn’t know what would happen.
You’re not perfect, but that’s the point.
Trying without the pressure to be flawless can be pretty freeing. If you can allow yourself that grace in one little thing, think about what else you might be open to trying.

Mapping across my friends. Expanding our comfort in trying new things that are small, expands our comfort to try new things that are bigger.

So here’s your Hump Day Hype Up challenge: pick a sentence in any language you don’t know and learn it.
Say it out loud, speak those new words, listen to it being said by an online translator, maybe even write it down.
It might feel awkward, but it’ll help you ease into the mindset of learning without pressure.
And once you start embracing that “beginner” energy, stepping into new things might just feel… doable.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - doing the small things has the biggest impact.

Ready to give it a shot?

Sending love,
Jade x
