The taste of a new flavour…
This week I've been pondering comfort zones a lot. How can we expand them? How to make leaning into the fear seem less... well... scary?
Where I've landed is leaning into the excitement of the other side.
Like, when you take away the fear and the self doubt, you're left considering what life will look like on the other side. That's a pretty exciting place to think about.
That's why this week's question is:
Question: What’s something you’ve been too scared to try, but secretly excited about?
Task: Taste something new. Try a meal, snack or drink you've never had before.
There is actually a great link between this week's question and task. Trying a new food is pushing the comfort zone in a relatively safe way. You get to consider all of the excitement of what you'll experience on the other side, without too much risk connected with the fear. The more we can push ourselves with simple challenges, the easier the bigger challenges become.
You know, deep down that you're also pumped to try the thing you've written down as your answer to the question. Give it a go too.
If you need a little pep talk or encouragement to go after the bigger challenge, you know exactly where to find me.
Have a fabulous Hump Day!
